At the zoo, I am always learning weird and wacky facts about animals. Here are my five grossest giraffe facts!

1.Giraffes have four stomachs, like cows. They will eat and regurgitate their food four times!
2. During mating season, male giraffes will taste the female giraffe’s urine to see if they are ready to mate!
4. Giraffes partake in a process called osteophagy, which means, “to eat bones.” They eat bones left over from carcasses to gain more calcium and phosphorous.
5. A giraffes heart weighs approximately 24 pounds, and pumps around 60 liters of blood around its body every minute. They have a blood pressure that is twice the average of a human.
